Well, I have been asked for my stories. And a "shift stories" section won't be all that great without any stories in them, right? I suppose I will start by mentioning that *I* personally do not have all that many because I am still relatively new to Law Enforcement. An perhaps some of the stories that I do have are not really the entertaining type that would be posted here anyway. In any case, after such non-sensical doom & gloom, I do have one that might qualify as being entertaining enough, although not very long in length. While on patrol, I observed a vehicle running a stop sign, so I do a traffic stop. Driver does not have a license, inspection is expired, but fairly co-operative, so I write a ticket for the stop sign & no license and let them go on their way. It was probably two weeks later I was on patrol again, this time in a traffic jam on the highway. I am creeping along and I happen to look over and there is the same driver in the same car again looking over at me. They must have just noticed me at the same time, because they got a very dejected look on their faces and sort of did that slight lowering themselves into their seat. Their lane is moving faster, so slowly they are moving in front of me, so I hit the turn signal and naturally the next car behind them let's me in. Of course I pull them over again, but again they are very co-operative, so I let them go with a warning this time... Now let me go think of some entertaining stories that I heard from other people...

Hmmm - now that you ask, I suppose that the driver info might be of interest. The driver was a hispanic male, did not even have a local ID & didn't speak any english. The first time I pulled them over, the passenger (also hispanic) spoke to me and offered her ID as well. Well, I thought the passenger was a female, but according to the ID, it says she was a male! It was a nice day the second time, almost like they were out on a date or something. I probably ruined their date, but oh well, comes with the job... -Greg
